Vicenç Curto

Curto was born in Montgai Vicenç (Lleida) in 1946. At 14 he moved to Barcelona. Self-taught painter until 1986 when he began his studies of Fine Arts, receiving training from various teachers of high standing, such as Angel Badia Camps. In 1991 he made several trips through the Mediterranean, where it impacts the contrasts of light and white architecture with the strength of the blue sea. Anxious to expand his knowledge, he moved one season to the Greek Islands, Santorini and Mykonos in particular, where he perfected his style seeking the light of the Aegean. He returned to Barcelona, where it takes real awareness of his vocation as an artist and just forged his own style: painting flat shapes. Vicenç Curto's work is a reflection of light and serenity of the Mediterranean forms.
